RANGITIKEI PROPOSES CONTINUED SERVICES FOR WAIOURU

The new Rangitikei District Council could continue to provide services to the Waiouru area after the October amalgamation. Rangitikei County Councillors resolved that the Ruapehu District Transitional Committee be invite to contract the services work for Waiouru to the Rangitikei County Council until 31 March 1990, on behalf of the Rangitikei District Transitional Committee. The contract would cover general works and services maintenance, noxious plants control, and dog and hydatids control. The grounds for the decision where given as being that the services will have been programmed for and funds provided by the Rangitikei County CouncT for a full year. Also, the period from November 1989 to March 1990 would give the new Ruapehu District Council time to make alternative arrangements.
