Pipiriki Rd sealing

Sealing of the Pipiriki road to Raetihi is still on the cards, with the Waimarino District Council hoping to join forces with the Wanganui county and city councils to do

the job. The two Wanganui councils would hopefully work at sealing the Wanganui River Road as well. The National Roads Board has tumed down requests for funding for the project in the past two years but the

Waimarino District Council plans to ask again. The work would cost about $100,000 per kilometre. Councillors feel the tourist potential for the route would improve if the road was sealed.
