College records fall

Eighteen Ruapehu College athletics records fell last Wednesday, and one boy gained nine wins and three seconds in 12 events. Alan Prince won the senior boys' champion place "by miles", said college teacher Richard Milne. Alan entered all twelve events in his grade, won nine of them and came second in the other three. Senior girls champion was Janine Stephens, Of the Whanaus (houses) Weka came first with 1284 points, Kiwi was second with 1211, Tui third with 1184, and Huia fourth with 952. Intermediate boys champion was Maya Patterson. Intermediate girls champions were Tui Allan and Cindy Langdon together. Junior boys champion was Jason Schrier and junior girls champion was Cindy Evans.
