RECREATION GROUMDS. PUBLIC MEETING

. A public meeting took place at the Warkworth Public Library on Monday Hast, for the purpose of taking into • 'consideration the matter of recreation ; grounds, and to arrange a-thletic sports "Warkworth.

A representive gathering was-pres-ent- and Dr. Shoesmith was voted to the chair, Mr. 8.. Warii], being appointed secretary to the meeting In the course of discussion it was ■'shown that two sums of money, surpluses from previous sport 'meetings amounting to about £22 were in hand "with which it-is proposed 1o form the "nucleus of a public recreation ground. Mr- P. Thomson proposed that a "committee be appointed to approach the Boclney Agricultural Society ,and "the Boad Board re grounds or'to see what_ other sites are available for re■creation purpose and to report to a .general meeting, seconded by Mr. C. Anderson and carried

Mr. La Toe-he proposed that Messrs JSlioesmith Of. Wilson H. Wai in, T. "Warm and C. Anderson be the commvittee for this purpose seconded by IMr. "W. Wilson and carried.

Sports

Tn'tlie-matter of holding sports at •an early date it was resolved that sports be held at an early date and Messrs iShoesmith ~8. Warm G. Wilson R. Houghton 'C. Anderson P. Thomson .J. Parkinson W. Wilson A. Bayner :and G. Weston, with power to acid to ttheir number, were appointed a comanittee for this purpose. Mr. M. MonkM. H. B. was elected President.

On the motion of Dr. Shoesmilh •seconded by Mr, La Boche it was re:solved, that all events, excei>t one, be .confine-el to the AVaitemata Electorate.
