On Wednesday morning about 10 o'clock Mr. John Brown had his barn burnt down and he will be a heavy loser as thnre was no insurance 011 cither the building- or its multiplicity of contents. Everything seemed to bosafe when Mr. li-rown and his sons went to work in a field about 20 chains off, and was called by Miss Brown who discovered the place all on fire; another unexplainable mysttery as to the origin or cause of fire. When will some of these various and many mysterious matters be made plain. Tarn afraid not at present, we will have to wait for the happy hereafter.
Bowmar and Litton. have nearly completed their work of pipe clayiug Selwood's deviation, which will be much needed to plod through next winter. We are determined to move all our nerves to get the long promised bridge across the Mangawai river.
