Obituary.
• The many old friends of Mrs. Eobert Taylor, formerly of Kaipara Flats, will learn Avith regret of her demise on Sunday last at the advanced age of 79 years. Mrs. Taylor was the wife of one of the early pioneer settlers who came out to New Zealand in the year 1800, and together with her.husband and a large family of yonng children, fought the battles of. the baekwood settler's life, the hardships of which the present generation but faintly realizes. Mrs. Taylor had long endeared herself to many of the old' and present settlers, for her willingness at all times to go to the aid of her neighbours far or near, whenever distress or sickness befel them, and few are there who cannot remember some acts of kindness on her part. Mrs. Taylor who was predeceased by her husband nine years, passed away at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. Morrison, Red Bluff AVarkworth, surround-' ed by one son and four daughters, and was interred at Kaipara Flats cemetery, beside the little church of which she and her husband were the founders and together with their family, were staunch supporters while they resided in the district. They had tea children, eight of whohi still sUrvivS thenv.
