Upper Mahurangi Road Board.
A meeting of the above was held, in rise Bonvd'ri office on Monday August : ><K Present, J. Baron Esq. (chairman), Messrs Taylor, Woodcock and •Sj Lopherd. Mr. Barton proposed that Mr, Woodcock be authorised (o see and instruct Mr. W. Taylor (th* man in charge of the work) not to go any closer to the fence than could be avoided. Seconded by Mr. Shepherd and carried, Mr, H. and R, Woodcock, and A Trotter, Glen Tui, Kaipara Fiats, wrote that the "Thirds" of rates be expended to make them a voad, oi> in lieu they would like to c me to some arrangement with the Board to have jsarne done omong themselves, |)e----rferred to next meeting, Mr. J, M, King waited upon the Board re opening a road through Mrs, Wilson's property to give himself and ihe settlers at the back an outlet. After considerable discussion thchairman moved That the Board will iry and arrange with Mrs. Wilson to •put a rowd through on conditions that Mr. King give a road through his property to give an outlet to the "back settlers and also to ihe Kaipara Eoad, and the Board ako to give Mr, King permission to erect gates as per clause 118 under the Public Works Act, on tlie roads given by him through his jn'operty, cond tional upon Mr. Snook.* doing his p« rtion of the fencing as previously promised by him, seconded by Mr. Woodcock and carried, Mr, King to consider the matter sand let the Board know his decision fit next meeting, • \ Mr, W. Mr. Wedding, Pome Valley waited -on the Board find asked that a road be put in to their property and that ihe bridge be repaired, Resolved {hat the matter stand Over io next ■meeting. Mrs. M, Kasper wrote giving not ice to the Board to pay all money to her in future for rent of- the Public Pound as Mr. Snook ha/1 broken his agreement of tenancy, Also offejing to lease same to the Bo«uvd at same terms as arranged between the Board and Mr. Snook. Resolved that the clerk infurin Mrs, Kasper that the 'Board floes not see its way clear to lease the pound.
The^ balance-sheet was received from the Audit Office properly certified. Mr, Thos. Green, wrote re opening of road. To stand over to next
