Hie residents of this district observe with much satisfaction that the Government is mdving in the matter of survey of Railway lines Mr. Kensingtonj G-overnikent surveyor, and party are picking up tlie original survey which was cairied through this district and I believe as far as Wellsford by Mr. Wetherby twelve or fifteen years ago. As soen jis Mr. Kensington has finished this preliminary -work I understand that the Sailway engin eer will lay off the sections. Thie sounds like business after long years.jof waiting, and we must give due credit to our representative at the seat of Government who ie keeping the matter before the Honse on all possible occasions. The local cKairman of the Railway committee, Mr. T. 0. Sainsburyv desires those who h&v c charge of petition circulars which h e circulated will kindly return them, so that the petition be sent on its mission in due time with A view to obtaining & substantial grant for Railway extension this Session* Every wdult is the Auckland province ie eligible to sign the petition referred to.
