A ra-eeting of tins Board was held it the Council Chambers "Warkworth mJuly let. : Present Mr. Bai*ton in the Chair Messrs B. C Shepherd, 0\ H. Taylor ,tnd A Vipond. King and J. Snook waited on tho ,Board to urge -!he claims of the petitioners for a road [lf.rom Strongman's to Perry's. The .Board decided not to attempt to open a road along the line that was stir. *feyed 50 years ago. It would be al<ftoge*her too costly, and quite beyond the means available, Mr. Kir>gj offered to give ihe land through his! property on cocditioas that the Board fence on boli sides of the road. As the length is 70 chains the cost would be heavy. After considerable discussion. Mr. King was asked to reconsider the matter between this nnl next meeting1 and make 8. more liberal offer.. In the [meantime the Board will arrange for the other end to connect wit.* the Main North Road. Messrs Taylor, Vipond and Woodcock, the coininittc3 authorised fo lay or? works under Government Grants, recommended the following;— £100 groat, Marison's ;Post Office, to junction of Section 188'Taixhoc 2 miles of road formation 14 yards wide £0 culvert 3, £35. grant, deviation from Koipara School to Post Ofßice. 24 chamefe of roa'ci formation 15 ft* wide. %# cuiv crts, i fillings 3 afcd 4ft. deep respectively* Several small ntcesr^pairs wera authorised, and a snail contract let to Mr, A. Clements ior £4.
Accounts passed for payment: £12 15s. 6d. Next meeting: to be held on Monday
