Probable Purchase of Mine

On receipt of reports from Mines Department engineers the Government will decide whether .to bixy the Paparoa coalmine, Westland. Paparoa is the largest rnine still -privately owned in the Grey district. The Minister of Mines, Mr. McLagan, confirmed that the mine had been offered to the Government. He bad arranged for engineers to report on its condition, he said. If the reports were favourable, and the price was considered reasonable, the .Government would probahly buy the mine.
