j For the first fo.ur of the present I series of cricket Tests five Australian batsmen — Bradman, Morris, Barnes, Miller and McCool — have secured. averages higher than the leading figure on the English list — Dennis Compton's 52.28. Bradman, with 121, is well ahead of the next pair, Morris and Barnes, whose averages are 85:8 and .85.5 respectively. \ Miller and ' Toshack have the best bowling records — 14 wickets at 20.85, and 16 at 26.76 respectively.
