Market 'Gardener Found Injured On Road What on first siglit appeared to be a case of a hit and run motor outrage, was reported to the Rotorua police about midday yesterday. Inquiries, however, led to the conclusion that a cyclist had been- flung on to the side of the main highway when a saek beeame wedged in the front wheel of his machine. A motorist, proceeding in the direetion of Rotorua ahout 11.30 a.m. canie upon Frank Fong*, a Chinese market gardener, of Ngongotaha, lying dazed at the side of the road alongside his wrecked bicycle. The rider had received a gash on . the head, and was unable to say what had happened. He was talcen to the Rotorua Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from a fractured skull. Constable W. Riddle later went to the scene of the accident and found a claw-hammer and sack, which the cyclist had been carrying on the handle-bars, wedged in the front fork-s. It appears t'hat 'Fong had started down a grade when the ma- . terial hecame entangled in the wheel and threw him hard at the side of the road.
