LINER TO BE MOVED TO-MORROW MORNING
WELLINGTON, Last Nig-ht. It is proposed to move the Wanganella from her present berth to Clyde Quay on Thursday morning about 10 o'clock. She will proeoed at high water under her own power with the assistanee of tugs and will be run as far up the beaeh as possible. A pilot will he aboard. This information was given by one of the salvage experts who added that it was essential that the vessel be beached in order that the sealing of No 1 and 2 bolds could be broken. The buoyancy gained by these two holds was the only thing keeping the bows c-f the ship off the bottom. The necessary repairs could then be effected which it was hoped would give her sufficient buoyancy to allow the vessel to bc floated'on to the dock. To-day the ship was drawing 29 i'eet 9 inches forward. Extra buoyancy had been gained- by pumping No 3 hold auite dry and by plugging' up the leaks in No 2 hold. Now the vessel has a port list of only three degrees. • * ""•
