H.M.S. VANGUARD HAS CROSSED THE EQUATOR
LONDON, Feb. 10. The British battleship Vanguard, vilh the Royal* Family on board, has •t(;ssed the Equator on the way tccouth Africa. The time honoured "rossing the line ceremony of duckmjr the initiates was witnessed by the Fing and Queen and Princesses. An earlier message said that an "ouatorial storm drenched the Vanguard 's decks while the Royal narty was attending divine servi'ce under an awning on the quarterdeck. The Royal Family later watched nnd photographed the tanlcer Brown Ranger, from Freetown, refuelling Ihe Vanguard with 1000 tons of oil. The Vangaurd slowed to 10 knots during the refuelling and will make un the lost time. The King's planes, with six Press t orrespondents, has arrived at SouthAfrica after a 33-liour flight.
