ENROLMENTS AT HIGH SCHOOL YESTERDAY

Enrolments in the secondary department of the Rotorua High School yesterday totalled 372, and additional pupils are expected to bring the roll to approximately last year's 390. Those promoted to the third forms total 136, comprising 65 boys and 71 girls, compared with 170 last year. InteTmediate entrants from the Primary Schools number 213, an increase of 40.' The Headmaster, Mr. W. G. Harwood, said yesterday that the aggregate roll of the school would be approximately 600. The classes were evenly divided in numbers between the general and vocational courses. :A start was made yesterday with the erection of the' four prefabricated classrooms. The annual barracks will be held from next Monday night and will break up on the following Monday, February 17. Visitor's day, as usual, will be the Sunday.
