A hyena, which escaped from its cage while the vessel vas tied up at Loureneo Marques, Portuguese East Africa, roamed around the ship, and settled at the head of the gangway just as members of the crew were returing to the ship. t The modern Noah's Ark is carrying a valuable cargo of animals, birds and reptiles, which range from 2in ruddy waxbill finches to a seven-year-old Afriean elephant. Among specimens is an extremcly rare whale-headecl stork, three baby black maned lions, and three rare and very poisonous snakes.
