Farewell to Citizens

MR. AND MRS. S. L. KENDALL AND MR. AND MRS. WOOLCOCK. The schoolvoom of the Bainbridgc Memorial Methodist Church was beautifully decorated with flowers on oecasional tables on Monday night, the occasion being the farewell of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Kendall and family, who are leaving Rotorua to reside in Auckland, and Mr. ancf Mrs. R. Woolcoclc, who are on transfer to Petone. There was a large representation of the Methodist 'Church congregation, to whom Mrs. Kendall was the co-orga-nist; Mr. Woolcock the choirmaster, and Mrs. Woolcock and Mr. Kendall choir members. After a splendid musical programme, the guests of the evening were presented with farewell scrolls and beautiful wall miitrors by the Rev. T. H. Carr on behalf of the church members, who made reference to the great assistance they had given to thc musical and fellowship work of the church. These remarks were reciprocated by Mr. Noel Paehoud. There were also present representatives of the Musicians' Club the Competitions Society and Operatic Society. Mr. D. E'.. S-heaf apoke on behalf of the Competition Society and Borough Coun. cil about the work the guests had done particularly Mrs. Kendall, as official accompanist. Mr. W. C. E. Geoi-ge, on behalf of the Musicians Club, also made refei'ence to the good work done by these people. Mr. 0. Parkinson made special mention of Mrs. Kendall's work iix the last production of the Operatic Society, "The Country Girl," as accompanist. Gifts were presented by the above societies and the recipients briefly thanked everybody for the farewell messages and gifts.
