The Italian Prime Minister, Signor Alcide de Gasperi, announced that he had resigned tc clarify the political situation following a division in the Socialist group and the attitude of the Repnblican party. .Signor de Gasperi said the other three parties agreed with his move for "clariflcation." Later the President, Signor de Nicola, accepted the de Gasperi Government's resignation. It is officially announced that Italy has formally potified the Big Four • that Italy "demands" the revision of the peace treaty.
