AUCKLAND, last. night. In the eleventh race of the Cornwall Cup series on the Waitemata Har'oour this afternoon, Paremata narrowly defcated Akaroa to win the cup. Followir.g Lyttelton 's win in the morning race, 1ive orews had two victories each to their creriit, and the i sailing of an eleventh race has created a prececlent in the series, ihe mcsl saileil previously heing 10. In this morning's race, Lyttelton caught a flgky breeze right at the , ! start ard went in to the lead, remaining there througnoui. Paremata was j sec-on !, and Auckland third. The final race this afternoon, which gave Paremata the cup, vvas highlighted by a terr.kic struggle between this crew and Akaroa, the winners crossng the line only 18 seconds ahead of the latter.
