WEEK-END SAILING RESULTS
■ — i Admiral Rotorua Rep. At ' P Class Champs. Although the wind was somewhat patchy in the early afternoon it freshened considerably later, and there were plenty of thrills for yachtsmen and women of the Rotorua Yacht and Power Boafc Club on Sunday. The first race, an open oue in which the craft were skippered entirely by ladies, was won hy Miss Gardner, sailing Waikaia, despite the fact that half-way round the course her forward hand fell overboard and had to be reseued. Jeannie (Miss L. Tattersall), was seeond, and Swift (Miss D. Francis) third. Flight (Miss P. Booth) and Crtisader (Miss M. Edwards) also started. The winner's time was 35m. 33s.
The forwards hands' race was won by Jeannie (skippered by O. Hogg, with Waikaia (I. Griffiths) secor.d, and Swift (I. Yeates) third. Crusader (V. E.iwards) also" startcfi. Time: 35m. 30s. w Owing to the fact that there was only oue eniry, the first capsize race in thc Griffiths Cup series was abandoned. The Sailing Committee have announced that Ihe seven-footer, Admiral, skippered by R. Rawson, will represent Rotorua at Hamilton next week-end at the United Services' P Class Championships.
