100 Lose Lives Following Ship Collision
SHANGIIAI, Jan. 20. The • Cliinese authorities report that about 100 of the 1000 passenyers and erew ahoard the woo-d ship Chikiang, which sank early yesterday at'ter a collision at the mouth of the Whangpo River, are missing. First reports estimated xthat at least 400 had been drowned. Survivors -demonstrated outside the shipping office. They declared that the Chikiang - was dangerously over-crowded and denianded compensation.
