Eighty-third Birthday Party

The celebration of a birthday is an event that all ag-es can enjoy and it is especially the very young and the very old folk who derive most pleasure from these functions. On January 9 Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Managh held a delightful party at their residence, Riversdale, Ngongotaha, to cdlebrate the 83rd birthday of Mrs. Managh's mother, Mrs. J. Tobeck, of Feilding. The two large lounges and livingroom were tastefully decorated with gladioli, gerberas, sweet peas and camaticns. The guest of honour who wore a black model frock with shoulder spray of sweet peas and gerberas, was presented wtib a bouquet to match. The traditional birthday cake, resplendent with 83 candles, was an added attraction to a sumptuous supper. The toast to Mrs. Tobeck was proposed by Mr. C. Managh and was given with musical honours. Mr. I. Tobeck replied on behalf of his wife. Among the many presents was a cheque from Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Managh and a large number of telegrams were received. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. C. Doggett, Mr. and Mfs. B. Gardes, Mr. and Mrs. F. Murray (Auckland), Mr. and Mrs. C. Richardson (Auckland), Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Riddle, Mr. and Mrs. B. Howlett, Miss June Bigby, Miss Pat Riddle and Mr. A. Farmer.
