Getting to Know N.Z.

Mrs. Pola Hill, the wife of Mr. Lee Hill, one-time 2nd N.Z.E.F. official cameraman, is an Englisli bride who is getting to know New Zealand in a rush. Although she has only been in ti e Dominion for nine weeks, there are few districts that she has not already visited. While her husband is touring New Zealand ccmpiling shotr, that are to make up the fdm "Terakoe," Mrs. Hill is diseovering the country from the inside. Mrs. Hill, whose home waS in London, saw extensive service during the war with the Nursing Service. In the latter stages during the doodlebug and V2 rocket attacks, she was nursing in Dartford, Kent, centre of the area known as "bomb alley" and later in Hoxton, London. "Most of our casualties in Kent," saicl Mrs. Hill. "were A.T.S. girls stationed in the area. In London, our hospital was narrowly missed by a V2 rocket which inflicted over 300 casualties." Lieutenant and Mrs. Hill were married in London last year and guests at the wedding inclucled members of the Kiwi Rugbv team, whose exploits on the playing fields of England were being filmed by the >groom. Mrs. Hill will probably have an opportanity of revisiting her homeland in a few months' time, when her husband takes his completed filni back to thf Old Country for release.
