Murder Charge Against Former Minister LONDON, January 17. The hearing began in the West London Police Court of the charge of murder against Thomas John Ley, former Minister of Justice in New South Wales. Ley and two other men, Lawrence John Smith and John William Buckingham, were charged with mundering John McBain 'Mudie, whose hody was found in a chalk pit on 'December 2 last. The prosecu'tor alleged that Ley had an insane o'bsession that Mudie had been blackmailing a Mrs. Maggie Evelyn Brook, an intimate friend of Ley's. Buckingham was diseharged after it had heen announced that he would give evidence for the Crown. The heraing was adjourned.
