President Seeks To Form Cabinet
PARIS, January 17. The newly-elected President of the Fourth Republic of France, M. Vincent Auriol, has started talks with party leaders in an effort io form a Government to take over from M. Blum's caretaker Government, which resigned last night. One of the President's first inter- ■ views to-day was \yith Communist Party leaders. The Defence Alinistry has announced that at ihe request of the President, all French military forces will have one day's holiday tomorrow. A. remission of military punishment has also heen announced.
