LONDON, Jan. 16. There are now 17,000 strikera at the London and Tilbury docks. More than 100 ships and coasters are idle, and many carry food cargoes, said an offieial of the National Dock Labour Lorporation. Dockers at Tilbury joined the strilters this morning. No porters are available at Covent Gardens. Many buyers arrived with their own transport and the salesmen helped them to load produce for the shops. The Central Strike Cc-mmittee meets again this morning. Officials of the Transport and General Workers' Union will join the meeting, and this afternoon' delegates of the stvikers are meeting. Yesterday's delegates wanted more time to consider the position and to get further information abo-ut the new negotiation machinery. There is no news so far of auy more lorry drivers joining the strike.
