CHINESE SHIP HITS DRIFTING MINE

S&AN-GHAI, January 12. When a Chinese steamer hit a drifting mine ahoht 30 miles from Hong Kong, about 40 Chinese were drowned. The Royal Navy rescued 18 survivors, some of them injured. Other survivors were taken aboard Chinese junks.
