Hard-Hitting Innings By Edrich At Hobart
HOBART, Jan. 10. On the Hobart cricket ground, Edrich made a startling 82 in 84 minutes, ineluding 14 fours and two sixes, 'teaving - England from severe trouble in its Hobart match against the combined team, ineluding the Test players Johnson, Miller, Hassett and Barnes. . England had lost 4 for 53 before Fishloclc and Edrich added 106 in 70 minutes. Edrich used his foet smartly, in a hard-hitting and aggressive display. Fishlock, with many good shots, made 52 in, 157 minutes, ineluding 7 fours, bearing the brunt of the early onslaught. Murfett, a fast-medium right hander, got three wickets for 15 eff his first nine overs, sending down swingers with gc-od contrel of the ball. The other batsmen were shaping fairly until Bedser and Evans added 70 in 52 minutes, with Wright making his top score of the tour.; Murfett was punished in -the latter stages of the game. Clark, a slow
