The spirit of festive gaiety which ' prevailed on New Year's Eve still ! remained on New Year's Night when ; the Ngongotaha Tennis and Crivket i Clubs sponsored a dance in the Ngo- ! ngotaha Hall. Many of the patrons | assembled had donned hats and leis j which they had worn the previous night and with confetti and streamers which were provided, created a gay and happy atmosphere. For the dancing, lively and popular tunes" played by Alan McDonald's orchestra contributed largely to the succes of an enjoyable evening. Miss Joyee Mason, of Matamata, playing extras received many recalls. The Monte Carlo vvas won hy Mr. and 'Mrs. A. Richards. Mr. Alf P'enn earried ,out the duties of M.C.
