"THE ENGLISH YACHT"

In July, 1939, Maurice Brown, a B.B.C. produeer, sailed to Norway in a six-ton sailing yacht. When wai' seemed inevitable he left her in Bergen in the care of the local sailing club. Throughout the war, the Norwegians looked 'after her in every possible way. They made her dirty dstring the occiujpation, painted out her British registration marlcs, moved her to safety (during the bombing, and kept her out of sight of the Germans. Navigation instruments and gear were hidden, at great personal riskj to themselves. Recently, Brown and an English crew went to fetch 'her. She was in perfect condition, fresh with new paint, and had become a legend all down the west coast of Norway, where she wa's referrecl to as "the English yacht." Being a bi'oadcasting .man, Maurice Brown has written a radio progamme chronicling her adventures.
