BISHOP-ELECT TO SAIL FOR WELLINGTON
Though tbe date has not bee/H fixed, preliminary arrangements are being made by the Primate of New Zealand, Archbishop West-Watson, and the Vicar-General of the Wellington Diocese, Archbishop F. H. Petrie, for the consecration of the Bisli-op-elect of Wellington, the Rev. R. H. Owen. It is- anticipated that Mr. Owen will leave England for New Zealand in the Rimutaka towards the end of this month, and he should arrive in Wellington early in March. Amongst changes announced in the clergy of the Wellington diocese, jf- the appointment of the Rev. N. E. Winhall, vicar of Upper Hutt sirice 1937, to be vicar of St. Andrew's, Epsom, Auckland. The Rev. William Tye, whose appaintment in the diocese have innui and Brooklyn, has retired from cluded Pohangina, Manaia, WangaTinui, and will be succeeded by the Rev. J. A. Stewart. After studying at Vietoria University College and St. John's College, Auckland, Mr. Stewart was curate at Khandallah from 1940 till 1943, and has since been in charge Of the Ohakune-Rae-tihi district. The Rev. K. D. Andrews-Baxter, of St. Thomas's, Newtown, has accepted a post at Dunedin, and will be succeeded by the Rev. J. C. A. Cole. . Mr. Cole studied at the University of Golumbia and at the Bishop's University, Lennoxville, Quebec. He was appointed to Epsom in 1937,. was vicar of Kapio from 1940 till 1944, and has been at Wanganui sirice then.
