-Rec. 11.80 p.m.)

LONDON, Jan. 6. The Times Jerusalem correspondent s"ays the possibility of the administration being driven to impose the sternest form of rule if all attempts and appeals to curb terrorists are in vain, has made an uncomfortable have made an uncomfortable impression 011 the Jews in Palestine. . .. ' So much comment has already appeared in the Jewish press that the eensor has decided to prevent from publication from January 6, all extracts on the subjects from the Sunday newspapers in Britain cabled to Palestine. The needle of Jewish comment swings continually away from the point of saying that something must he done by the Jews to halt their extremists. It is preferred to hover l ound the point that all hope of amicable relations between the Jews and Britain is disappearing- and Britain lias her policy to blame for the activity of the terrorists. This is tho recurring theme of Jewish talk which refuses to see that this evil thing which has grown up will never be abated by concession. It is in order to restrain from sueb nnhelpful comment that London press extracts are being censored, although this is a debatable decision. B might he healthy for the Jews in Palestine to know all that is beingscid about them abroad. Botb the Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern Gang have achieved surprising successes in recruiting campaigns in the past few weeks, says the British United Press correspondent. It is believed that the st.rength of the Irgun Zvai Leumi which the British military authori-*-jes recently estimatedl to be 4000 to 5000, is now 700Q to 8000. All Jewish and Arab cafes throughout Palestine have been placed out of b vunds to British troops as a security measure to prevent kidnappers, but the ban was relaxed to-night to the cxtent of permitting soldiers to.take mcmbers of the Women's Territorial Service to einemas.
