NEW YORK, Dec. 29. The New York Times correspondent aboard the Byrd expedition flagship "Mount Olympus" said international complications of the United StatesN Navy's Antarctic development project were high-lighted yesterday when news was receivec that the British refused to vacate American buildings on Marguerite Bay. An American scientific expedition, led by a retired U.S. Naval commander, Mr. Finn Ronne, is scheduled to leave for that area in a few weeks. Its plans were dependent on using the buildings now in British hands. The U.S. Navy 'has already asked correspondents not to give the exact geographieal position of the east and weSt groups of its own (Byrd) expedition working around the Antarctic. The restrictions do not apply to ships headed to Little America, but only those skirting slices of Antarctica held by Britain, New Zealand, Australia, France, Chile, Argektina and iN-orway. News of the British stand at Marguerite Bay ^onflicts /with a message from tlve North American newspaper, Alliance, eabled on December 23, that the British had agreed to move out of the American buildings at Marguerite Bay to nvake way fcr the Finn Ronne expedition.
