CAR COLLISION ON TAURANGA HIGHWAY
Four Passengers Admitted To Hospital Two cars came into collision on a bend on the Tauranga highway about 20 miles from Rotorua, at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday, as the result of which four of the occupants of both vehieles were taken to the Rotorua Hospital in the St. John Ambulance. They were Miss Edith Specht and Miss Esme Ingley, who were being driven towards Rotorua by Mr. "Wlalter Deutseh, of Auckland, and Mrs. Edith McKay, of Pongakawa, Te Puke, driver of the smaller vehicle, and Pauline McKay. The other occiupant of this car was Mrs. McKay's son-in-law, who, like the driver of the other vehicle, escaped injury. Miss Specht sustained a broken arm through being thrown over the front seat by the impact, and the other patients received lacerations to the face and hands. All were reported last night to be progressing favoujably. The smaller car was badly smashed, one wheel, being torn off and the side stove in.
