Three-quarters of an hour before stumps, and with. six wiekets in hand, the Manawatu senior cricket representatives overtook the required number of runs to beat Wanganui, first challengers of the season for the Hawke Cup. The match was coneluded here on .Saturday. Wanganui in its first strike compiled 271, which xepresented a fairly formidable total, particularly in view of the fact hhat the trophy may be won on the first innings.
