ROTORUA RED CROSS GOODS FOR EUROPE
Working . steadily behind tlie scenes in Rotorua, is a small coterifc of women, representing a great organisation — the Red Gr-oss Society. Each week this small band meets and works assiduously making clotheg and packing comforts for distribur tion to Europe and the Far East, In the last two or three months, a large case of clothing and underwear, made entirely by the voluntary helpers, who number under ten, W.a& dispatched to the British Red Cross Society for distribution in EuropC. Within the last week a further casd, contaming medical supplies has beeii sent to China to he distributed withU.N.R.R. A. goods. Early in the New Year, the society will be busily engaged in making sheepskin mitts and bootees for small children in Europe, as well as all classes of warm underwear. These, it is hoped, wilU thus arrive on thC v Continent to meet the rigour^ bi next winter, The . society makes an appeal to farmers in ihe district fbt sheep and lambskins to make theijl articles. ;f.A
