Bernborough Purchased By M-G-M Vice-President
SYDNEY, December 23. The Sydney Telegraph's New York correspondent repoi'ts that Mr. Louis B. Mayex*, vice-president of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, has purchased Bernborough, Australia s xoimer champion racehorse. The report quotes a leading California trainer as saying that Mr. Mayer paid the owner, Mr. A. 0. Romano, more than £93,000 for the horse, which is one of the highest prices ever paid for a non-raeing stallion. The Telegraph says that _ Mr. Komano, who is in San Franciseo, will return to Sydney to arrange transport for Bernborough.
