Miss Luxford Speaks Of New Zealanders --"The co-operation that our Anzac Club got from the peopl^ of Axnerica was not due to any wox*k on our own part," said Miss Nola Luxford at Crowther House yestex*day afternoon when she met friends aixd next-of-kin of returned servicemen. "We got that wholeheax*fed co-operation hecause of the friendly nature of the hoys themselves. They were excellent ambassadox*s of goodwill." Miss Luxford briefly x*ecounted some shoi*t anecdotes relative to New Zealand servicemen, whorn she had met in New Yox*k, and said that every ycar, New Yorkers hold a remembrance day for New Zealanders and Australians on the top of one of the buildings of the Rockefeller. Centre. On the top of this building there are two formal gardens, representing New Zealand and Australia. They are joined by a blue pool symbolic of the Tasixxan Sea. It is there that the remeixxhrance ceremony takes place. Speaking of her travels through Europe, Miss LuxfoxU said that she considex'ed that newspaper reports tended to play down the horrors of the Nazi concentx*ation camps. She said that Dacha-a was too horrible for words. Before meeting fx*iends and next-of-kin, Miss Luxford was entertained to ^afternoon tea by nxembex's of the executive of the Rotorua R.S.A. and their wives.'
