Mr. Joseph Price
The death has oecurred in Hamilton of Mr. Joseph Price, well known in local body affairs in the Waikato. Mr. Price had been chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board since April, 1945, when he was eleeted to that position in succession to the late Mr. Franlc Findlay, M.P. It was while he was in Wellington on hospital board business some weeks ag*o that Mr. Price was taken ill. Mr. Price was appointed to represent the Matamata area on the hospital board on May 10,-1923. He had' served continuously ever since. Mr. Price was one of the original member s of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board 27 years ago. He had been chairman for the last 14 years. He was chairman of the Matamata Town Board for some time until the formation of a borough. Mr. Price owned and bred racehorses and was at one time president of the Matamata Racing Club, hesides heing* a member of various committees of the club. He owned a farm at Richmond Downs, near Matamata. Mx*. Price is survived by his wife.His first wife died about 10 years ago. The funeral will he held at Matamata on Monday.
