State Rental Houses
With a further 168 State rental houses allocated to ex-servdcemein during October, the number leased fo ex-service tenants under the 50 per cent. quota reached 6188 by the end of that month, states the' Rehabilitation Detfartment. Of these 1788 have been allocated in Auckland, 462 in Hamilton, 262 in Napier, 174 in New Plymouth, 2242 in Wtellington, 133 in Nelson, 5'98 in Christchurch, 336 dn Dunedin and 123 in Invercargill and their districts. Allocations for the same districts during October were: Auckland 46, Haniilton 11, Napier 4, New Plymouth 5, Wellington 52, Nelson 21, 'Christchurch 20, Dunedin 7, Invercargill 2, total 168. Touching Up Treatment. , I dqn't think there are many demobolised dental officers in Rotorua (and thank the Lord for- that, sir), ' but if there are, the Rehabilitation Department's refresher course on cruelty to the helpless starts in May next year and applications m-ust be lodged v/ith the Rehabilitation office in Rotorua before the end of this month. Army Motor Cycles Where applications have been lodged for ex-Army cycles, it may be some little time before the - success or otherwise of the application is known, writes the Rehabilitation De-par-tment. The valuation of the machine has not been completed, and after that stage, the suecessful appli- ■ cants will be called by the War Assets Realisation Board to make a selection. Advice will reach the applicants from the War Assets Realisation Board and the Loeal Rehabilitation Offlc will be unable to f-urnish any further inf ormation to applicants.
