TWO CRIMINALS CAUGHT
Founcl Hiding In Swamp With Heads Above Water BRISBANE, Deeember 16. The police Pecaptured at the gunpoint, two of ihe three ' dangerous criminals who eseaped from the Boggo Road gaol last Wednesday. Derwent Evans Arkinstall, aged 25, murderer, and Arthur Ernest Halliday, aged 25, househreaker, both oi.' New South Wales, were seen by iwo boys on a small island between Fhornclilfe and Nudgee, alxiut 14 niles from Brishane. Police found the men hiding in a mangrove swamp, with' only their iieads above water. They were eap-tured-after a scuffle. Victor John Travis aged 20, gunman and househreaker, is still at large. The three men scaled ihe wall of the Boggo Road gaol, walked out of the grounds, and disappeared with01, t a trace. Three hundred police and prison warders spread a net reutid greater Brishane immediately, ,)i;t there was no sign of the e-capees. The police warned the puhlic that the men were dangerous, and would stop at nothing to complete their escape.
