PERFECT DAY FOR YACHT RACES
The weather was perfeet yesterday for the continuation of the Rotorua Yacht and Power Boat Club's championship programme. With a moderate wind from the west, a 14-footer, Idle Along and two seven-footer races were sailed. Details: — Sir Ernest Davis Cup (14-ft Skimmer Class) : Jeannie (T. Kelly) 1; Waikaia (S. Griffiths) 2. Smith-Nealie . Cup (Idle Along Class) : Swift (P. Swift) 1 ; Barene (P. Hunter) 2; Crusader (R. Edwards) 3. , Seven-Footer Championship Scrateh Race: Niki (Miss D. Murray) 1; Kim (R. Rawscn) 2; Tere (B. McRae) 3. Beverley Shield: Swift (R. Yerex) 1 : Zipper (Miss J. Edwards) 2 ; Tere (B. McRae) 3. This latter race is the final one in the Beverley Shield series and the winner of the trophy is R. Rawson, skipper of Kim.
