APPEAL TO MINISTER TO AID INDUSTRY

HAMILTON, Last Night. The disabilities placed on Hamilton as a result of a recent decision of the Land Saies Court in fixing the price for an area of land required in Frankton by a manuf acturing firm, as a result of which the owner was not desirous of selling, has been pointed out to the Minister of- Finance, Mr. Nash, by the Hamilton City Council. Mr. Nash has been asked to take some action that will enable Hamilton to obtain its fair share of secondary industries. Copies of the 10-year plan and the proposed Greater Hamilton plan, showing the intended industrial area, will be forwarded to the Land Saies Committee and the valuation department. Previously the land in question was treated by the Land Saies Committee as residential and its value was placed at £320. Later the court increased it to £900.
