Christchurch, Friday. Wellington retains the Wilding Shield for the provincial lawn tennis supremacy beating Canterbury by six matches and 15 sets to six matches and 14 sets. Results were: — Wilding Shield: Wellington v. Canterbury. — Singles: Angus (C.) beat Malfroy (W) 10-8, 6-4. Ferkins (W) beat Barnett (C) 6-2, 6-8, 6-4. Dymond (C) beat Rousell (W) 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Howe (W) beat Robinson (C) 6-3, 6-2. Doubles: Angus and Barnett (C) beat Malfroy and Ferkins (W) 11-9, 1 1-6, 8-6. Dymond and Robinson beat Roussell and Howe 6-0, -7. Total: Wellington, six matches 15 sets; Canterbury, six matches 14 sets. Munnelly Casket Singles: — Mrs Dykes (W) beat Miss G. Poole (C) 6-3, 6-3; Miss Nicholls (W) beat Miss Wake (C) . 6-4, 6-2; Miss I. Poole (C) beat Miss White (W) 6-4, 8-6; Miss Rudkin (C) beat Miss Whisker (W) 9-7, 6-3.
