THE BRITISH VIEW
INTEGRITY VINDICATED (Rec. 11 p.m.) London, Dec. 27. The Times in a leader entitled "An upright verdict" says: "No message could be more seasonable to lovers of justice than the acquittal of the defendants in the Reichstag trial with the exception of the self-confessed incendiary, Van der Lubbe, whose conviction was inevitable. The result vlndicated the good sense and integrity of the German judiciary. Fifty-seven days' inquiry served to establish beyond question the innocence of Torgler and the Bulgarians. By reaching the only verdict consonant with honour and justice the court struck a blow for. humanity."
