JAPANESE SHIPPING DIRECT TO WEST AFRICAN PORTS

(Rec. 11.10 p.m.) London, Dec. 27. The Financial News says: "A new development in Japanese competitiofl" is the inauguration of direct monthly shipments of Japanese goods to West Africa. Hitherto they have come by steamer to Europe and have been .toanshipped at Marsailles, London, Liverpool or Antwei-p. The first direct shipment is now en route, including cotton and sillc goods, bicycles, metalware, beer and other goods.
