EXCHANGp RATE OPERATES IN THE DOMINION'S FAVOUR
-By Telegraph' — Gppyrlgpt).
Auckland, Tuesday. According to Mr. R. Rohertson, a Vancouver merchant, who arrived by the Aorangi, Canada will save about 75,000,000 dollars per annum in interest alone because of the fact that the exchange rate with the United Stafes now favours Canada. Canada had been paying hetween 12 and 25 per cent exchange at various times, but Canadian funds are now at a premium of 4 to 5 per cent. He said nobody seemed able to predict the future in the United States. An outstanding feature was th.e confidence ev.erywhere in President Roosevelt. There was widespread confidence that if the N.R.A. fails, Mr. Roosevelt will fipd some other way out.
