London, Nev. 18. ^ Mr. R. Coomer, an overseas visitor staying at a Piceadilly hotel was robbed of £5000. by .tricksters. Earlier in the week Mr. Coomer had made the acquaintance 'of a man who appeared to be well versed in eommercial jnatters. While he was being shown over London the "eommercial man" met an acquaintance who seemed engaged in the same methods of making easy money by expert knowledge of the financial worldVarious, schemes were proposed to Mr. Coomer, and he w.as told that q huge sum of money had been mad(t for him. Bef ore paying over the gains,however, Mr. Coomer was told he must prove that if he had lost he would have bgen in a position to meet his losses. . > Mr. Coomer went to his bank, and later handed, over. £5000 to the tricksters, who then tjisappeared.
