— By Telegraph — Copyright).

Rec. Dec. 21. Capetown, Dec. 20. An oil transport towing the disabled whale-catcher has arrived from the Antarctic. It picked up a xnessage yesterday that the British factory ship, Southern Princess, seriously damaged her rudder in a heavy gale and is seeking shelter in the icepack. This is the seventh casualty during the present season. The captain of the transport participated in the search for another vessel, the Rerea, and found a whale with a heavy chain attached' to its tail. He concluded that when the Rerea overran the whale in order to bring it in tail first, it was caught by a large wave and capsized, giving the crew no chance.
