CIVIL AIRPORT
The proposals to float a commercial av-iation company in New ; Zealand and to include Rotorua in the itinerary of the services is of considerahle interest and importance to this town and district and the discussion at Wednesday night's meeting of the borough council regarding the matter indicates that the council has not overlooked the importance of the move. Proposals are already afoot for extending the aerodrome reserve in order to conform to the requirements of a modern airport and provide sufficient facilities for a, regular commercial service. The council is showing foresight in considering this matter in advance for an indication has been given that if the present facilities are not improved, Rotorua may be omitted from ' the service itinerary. It is particularly important in a holiday town and one lying so far off the main communication routes, that this should not be ■riiiaiiMiiilHdif
